thanks reecia- i was trying to sneak some sketches of my grandpa in while we sat at the pool in pompano beach- he's an elusive subject though- this was my fourth try and still not quite him but somewhere approaching him. you and bob love the inky drawings the most. thanks for looking at the blog- i miss you

yah, I do. Because it is such an everyday medium (one with which everyone is familiar) but your results are so incredible. I can't even achieve the neat handwriting to which I faithfully aspire. It is like you have special otherworldly powers! (You do!) I miss you too. This dissertation business sucks. I wish you were coming to CA.

i am so glad you did this one. me too, i wish there was some way to capture that look ... i sat right there beside him last thurs: he recalled to me, his mother, saying the day she died: "Joe, Life Is Sweet."
